Install the indicator in NinjaTrader 8.
By the end of this page the ZIP from your order email is registered in NinjaTrader 8, ready to be dropped on any chart. The whole flow is a single menu path plus a restart — nothing unzipped, no license keys, no registry edits.
Control Center → Tools → Import → NinjaScript Add-On, pick the ZIP, click Open, restart NT8. Done.
Four steps. One restart.
Most of the time the whole flow takes under five minutes. If anything does misbehave, the gotchas are at the bottom of the page and almost always end in “OneDrive” — guide 03.
Grab the ZIP from your order email
Open the Steady Turtle order confirmation email in your inbox (check spam if you don't see it — it's sent via Polar.sh). Click the download link; a ZIP file lands in your downloads folder — something like SteadyTurtle_InverseFVG.zip.
NinjaTrader imports the ZIP directly. If you extract it first, the import dialog won't know what to do. Leave it compressed.
Open NinjaTrader 8's Control Center
Launch NinjaTrader 8. The Control Center is the small window with the toolbar at the top — Connections, Accounts, Executions. That's the window that owns the Import menu. If NT8 opens straight to a chart, the Control Center is hiding behind it.
Help → About should show version 8.1.6 or newer. That's the build where email-based licensing was introduced; the indicator needs it to authenticate.
Tools → Import → NinjaScript Add-On
From the Control Center menu, click Tools → Import → NinjaScript Add-On…. A file browser opens. Point it at the ZIP you downloaded and click Open. NT8 compiles the add-on in the background — you'll see a short progress dialog, then a confirmation.
Tools → Import → NinjaScript Add-On… → [Select ZIP] → Open
Confirm, and restart if asked
NT8 asks you to confirm the import — click Yes. On some builds a follow-up dialog suggests restarting NinjaTrader so the new add-on is loaded cleanly. Do the restart. The indicator is registered to your NT8 user, so the next time you sign in on another machine with the same email, it's already there.
That's install complete. Next you'll want to put it on a chart — which is where guide 02 picks up.
Three things almost always fix it.
The import dialog says the file is invalid
You unzipped the ZIP. NT8 imports the archive itself, not the folder inside it. Delete the extracted folder, re-download the ZIP from the order email, and retry with the compressed file.
Import succeeds but the indicator never appears in the Indicators list
Nine times out of ten this is OneDrive quietly syncing your Documents folder. NT8 writes the add-on binary into Documents\NinjaTrader 8\bin\Custom, and OneDrive relocates the folder mid-write. Jump to guide 03 — the fix is two clicks, once.
An authorization or license error pops up
Check that the email shown in NT8 at Control Center → Help → About is the address you used at checkout. If it is and the error persists, email info@steady-turtle.com — include the NT8 version (Help → About) and the indicator name.
Still stuck after all three? Email info@steady-turtle.com. Include your NT8 version and the indicator name.
Indicator imported. Next up, the chart.
Import is a one-time step — the indicator now lives under your NT8 user, available on every machine you sign in from. Putting it on a chart takes about three minutes.
