Put the indicator on the chart.
Prerequisite: the indicator is installed (guide 01). This page is the three-minute second half — right-click the chart, find the SteadyTurtle folder, add, tune if you want. Every indicator ships with defaults tuned for ES and NQ, so you can click through and trade as-is.
Right-click chart → Indicators (or Ctrl+I) → SteadyTurtle folder → pick the indicator → Add → OK.
Right-click, add, apply.
NT8's Indicators dialog is one window that does two jobs — the left pane picks indicators, the right pane tunes them. You only touch the left pane the first time; after that, the indicator is saved to the chart and you can forget the dialog exists.
Open a chart of the instrument you want
From the Control Center: File → New → Chart, pick the instrument (ES, NQ, MES, MNQ, CL, whatever you trade), hit OK. If you already have a chart open that's the right instrument, skip straight to the next step.
Every Steady Turtle indicator works on any timeframe — but defaults are tuned for common intraday charts (1m, 5m, 15m). If you're on a tick or volume chart, the indicator still draws; the numbers just map differently.
Open the Indicators dialog
Right-click anywhere on the chart, pick Indicators from the context menu. Or — if you prefer shortcuts — make sure the chart has focus and press Ctrl+I. Either way you land in NT8's Indicators dialog: two panes, an Add/Remove button between them.
Chart → Right-click → Indicators · or Ctrl+I
Find the SteadyTurtle folder, pick the indicator, add
The left pane lists every indicator NT8 knows about, grouped by vendor folder. Scroll to SteadyTurtle — all the Steady Turtle indicators live there — expand it, single-click the one you want. Then click the Add button in the middle of the dialog (or double-click the indicator). It moves to the applied list on the right.
Tune the settings (optional), then apply
With the indicator selected in the applied list, the right pane shows its settings — colors, line widths, session times, whatever it exposes. Defaults are tuned for ES and NQ; adjust if you want, or leave them. Click Apply to preview without closing, or OK to apply and close. The indicator is now drawing on the chart and saved to this chart's layout.
Want every knob documented? Each indicator page has a § Every knob, exposed section — the settings reference tables live there.
Applied, but nothing shows?
The indicator is applied but the chart looks the same
Likely one of two things. First, scroll back — many indicators (Overnight Sessions, Initial Balance, Opening Range) only draw on bars that fall inside their session window, so if you're on a Monday morning chart with no Asia data loaded yet, there's nothing for the indicator to plot. Second, load more history: Data Box → Days or chart Properties → Data Series → Days to load, bump it to 30+.
Lines render off-screen or the chart auto-scales away
If bands sit above or below visible price (common right after first-applying Dynamic Standard Deviations or Profit Forecast), press F5 or scroll the price axis — NT8 doesn't always auto-fit when a new indicator lands. For indicators that publish their own price axis, right-click the chart → Auto Scale.
Still nothing drawn? Email info@steady-turtle.com with a screenshot of the chart and a second screenshot of the Indicators dialog.
On the chart. You're trading.
The indicator is saved to this chart's layout — if you duplicate the chart or save the workspace, it comes along. To run it on a second chart, repeat step 2 onward there too. Everything else is set up once.
